He’s being way too conservative. In Craigslistworld, this is generally referred to as “rust free.”

Another dumb stancebro that thinks it looks cool if they purposely rust the hood to make it look more “urban” or some other bullshit like that.

That looks intentional. This is that stupid fucking trend of people intentionally rusting body panels, isn’t it?

Fair enough. haha
And since it’s a hood it will get lighter and increase airflow!

Thats what I thought when I first saw it. Because if it was actual rust wouldn’t it be moving onto the fenders also?

Does it really? Well the lack of paint has to mitigate that to a degree and if it keeps rusting shit’s gonna fall off.
Now I’m thinking about rusty water hitting the windshield when it rains! Ewww!

Rockers and wheel arches are where they usually rust naturally here in the snow belt.

Yep. Until it falls off the rust is just oxidized metal, which simply put means oxygen is being added to the molecular structure and that oxygen weighs a certain amount. Now once it starts falling off it will of course be lighter, but that hood is definitely heavier than it would have been.
